Now a full-time Pet and Wildlife/Nature photographer, I’ve been exploring and photographing the UK from the lovely perspective of a 45 foot narrowboat since July 2019, shooting birds and nature in the environment with natural light and minimal intervention. Revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary, showing nature’s everyday beauty in unexpected ways, is my motivation as a photographer - whether this be a much-loved family pet or a much-maligned grey heron!

A snap decision to re-explore the Kennet and Avon in 2022 brought me back into the heart of Wiltshire and, while still travelling and selling my prints and cards from my narrowboat as a licenced Roving Trader, I now have a stall in the Shambles Market in Devizes every Thursday, Friday and Saturday - as well as my Online Shop that you can visit here on my website.

Pet Portraits by Philippa is an exciting part of my photography business - it’s such a joy preserving moments in time for proud owners of wonderful animals and I feel repeatedly honoured and privileged to be trusted with capturing the character of these much-loved animals.

I’ve been commended in Bird Photographer of the Year, published in various magazines and shortlisted in international competitions, and am proud to be an Ambassador for SheClicks, encouraging and supporting female photographers of all levels worldwide.

For those interested, I’m a devoted Nikon user - I’ve a mirrorless Z8 and a back-up d750 - paired with the awesome Z24-70 f2.8s and 70-200 f2.8 - it’s definitely not all about the gear, but the gear definitely helps! For my close up and macro work, I absolutely love my Sigma 105 f2.8, a bargain lens that gives amazing results. Post processing is done with Capture One Pro.
